On Night Moves by Cynthia Danielewski
Hardback ISBN: 0312349793
Night Moves by Cynthia Danielewski is a fast-paced, flowing
mystery which is sure to delight the reader.
When a neighborhood fourth of July party takes a violent turn, Detective Reeves
automatically finds himself in the middle of a highly disturbing case. Who could
have killed his neighbor, leaving him in a pool of blood on the bedroom floor?
Did anyone have a clear motive for killing Richard? Could the man's wife have
pulled the trigger? If so, where is the murder weapon? The police
are sent chasing their tails, interviewing everyone who had any contact with the
victim. In the end, the truth will be far more heartbreaking than anyone would
have guessed.
I enjoyed this book and was especially happy that it only took about 3 hours to
finish, which makes it a great before-bed read for the dreamless mystery lover
or a great mystery for reading on the subway or in a cafe. I did find some
slight nagging repetitiveness in the writing style which I felt was worth
mentioning here, but, to be fair, I was reading the uncorrected proof and not
the finished work. I will report back after looking over the finished work.

Night Moves
by Cynthia Danielewski
New York Police Detective Jack Reeves is less than thrilled when his wife, Ashley decides to organize a Fourth of July neighborhood block party. After a hard day of work, he prefers quiet evenings spent at home with her and their newborn son, John. But Jack soon realizes it isn’t so easy to separate his job from his home life.
When one of their neighbors, Richard Smythe, is shot and killed during the event, Jack has no choice but to get involved. Unfortunately, there are as many suspects as there are alibis. With his police partner, Ryan Parks, Jack begins an in-depth investigation into the man’s murder, following a twisting trail that reveals more the further he probes.
